My love of music started at a very young age. My parents greatly appreciated the beauty of music and always encouraged me to explore this joy. At the age of five, I started playing violin. In high school, I fell in love with the viola and decided to focus my studies on music and performance. I received my Masters in Viola Performance from the Academy of Music in Warsaw, Poland. After my music studies, I moved to the US in 1982.
I was a violin and viola teacher for three years at Alverno College and for ten years at Carroll College Project Create in Wisconsin. I then started and directed the String Orchestra Programs at Saint John Vianney School at Saint Dominic School. In total, I have had private students for 24 years ranging in age from 5-21 years old. In 2006, the Civic Music Association of Milwaukee, Wisconsin awarded me Music Teacher of the Year. I was extremely honored to been given this award especially because it was in part due to the recommendations of my own students and their parents.
My primary goal is to help my students develop a real love for music and an enjoyment in playing their instruments. By teaching students technical skills and good practicing habits, they will be able to accomplish their own musical goals and have learned great habits for life. I am proud to say a number of my students have gone on to compete at the state level, study music in college (including The Julliard School of Music), and even play professionally.
